Thousands of New Yorkers lined up outside of the Metropolitan Pavilion in Manhattan to await their chance to taste hundreds of plant-based foods being sampled at the 8th Annual New York City Vegetarian Food Festival. The two-day festival featured over 120 vendors and three stages of entertainment and expert presentations on health, nutrition and advocacy.
“Eight years ago, it was just a little space, and now we’ve got two floors and 8,000 people,” said Nira Paliwoda and Sarah Gross Feoli, the founders of U.S. VegCorp, which produces the festival. “It’s not just for vegans and vegetarians. It’s for everybody that loves great food and compassion.”
