Camera Crews Shine Spotlight on 92 Year Old Activist
The News
Eighty animal rights activists descended upon NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio’s mansion for a protest, but the media homed in on one: 92-year old Natasha Brenner. The Coalition to Ban Horse-drawn Carriages organized the protest to pressure the Mayor into fulfilling his campaign promise to end horse-drawn carriage rides in midtown Manhattan. Ms. Brenner, who has participated in hundreds of animal rights protests over the years and has been an articulate and staunch advocate for the horses, told reporters that “nothing would keep her away” and that she won’t back down until horses are “no longer pulling carriages in the streets of New York City.”
NYC’s animals are lucky to have Natasha Brenner as an advocate, and NYC’s activists are lucky to have her as a role model.
Natasha was the best. As she said – she would not have missed this important demo. I loved what she said – so articulately – “the horses feel.” Got that trolls? They feel. Something you don’t seem to get. It is people like us who know the horses are not here to serve us; to make us happy. They exist for their own reasons — and it certainly is not to pull tourists around Central Park to make their owners rich in their cash only business.
Natasha and her late husband Noah have been out on the streets supporting animal advocates and our causes for many years. And while others come and go, those with a true commitment to animal rights NEVER GIVE UP! We just “keep on keepin’on”!!!
If I’m still kicking at 92, I hope I bear just an inkling of her tenacity! Well done.
Thank you for honoring Natasha, who is a tireless advocate for animals! Kudos to all who came to last night’s amazing demo!
What an inspiration! We should all use our life for what we believe in. Amazing!
Very well said, Donny. Interesting how they all zero’d in on Natasha. She was fantastic!!!!
