The News

Animal rights activists in New York City blocked Lady Gaga’s SUV as she left a Billboard Women in Music gala in midtown. The protesters said that Lady Gaga appeared to turn up the volume on her radio in an effort to tune out the activists, who used a megaphone to inform her that the “50 dead animals” on each of her fur coats were either “gassed, anally electrocuted or skinned alive.”

Animals First told TheirTurn that Gaga could not escape the activists because her SUV was stuck in heavy midtown traffic and that, when the traffic did clear, her driver ran a red light.

In recent months, the same activists have staged provocative anti-fur protests targeting Kim Kardashian, Rihanna and Amber Rose, the hip hop artist. Media outlets in the U.S. and Europe reported on all of the protests, and videos taken by the activists have been viewed over five million times on YouTube and other social media platforms.

It’s the 21st century, its time to be more educated than ignorant!! Education makes more of an impact plus compassion and love which goes without saying! When you are in the public eye, you should think things through better and realize you are an example hopefully a good role model!!

  2. Zizi says:

Wearing fur is about as low class as you can get….it’s like wearing a sign on your back that says: “Hey, look here! I’m stupid! I’m ignorant and uneducated! I’m also vain, indifferent to suffering and don’t give a sh’t about animals”. if that’s what you want to advertise, go for it and join all the other a**holes who think they look great as walking advertisements for cruelty and abuse.

Hey GaGa once decorated herself in pieces of meat, so she is at the bottom of the barrel among low-life bottom crawlers!

    1. Adina says:

Hey, when she wore the meat, it was an artistic statement I liked. Like “Women are objectified, downgraded and emotionally killed just like these animals. So we’re just gonna make you sick, maybe you wake up”. Afterwards she showed stage prop “dead animal bodies” made of plastic, to make this point. But wearing fur now is lightyears away from that (it’s quite the opposite, showing she doesn’t get the links between her own emotional state and the suffering of others).

  3. Fine says:

I think, the one who we need to fight with is the owner of fur company. But as long the way how to get the fur is right way without hurting the animal, that should be fine. But if kill or the worst is skined it alive, we should do the same thing like what they do to animals

    1. Adina says:

There is NO way to get the fur without hurting the animal – what on earth are you talking about! The animal is caged all its life and then hung up by its paws and skinned. They look terrified and miserable and do not know compassion. Stop it with that myth of “humane killing”, there is no such thing. All of it is cruelty.

  4. “We owe it to our fellow beings with whom we share our lives and our planet, to protect and care for them, with kindness, love, respect and compassion. We need to relate to them as family, friends, guardians and loved ones, never as property, commodities, objects or things with no needs, interests and rights of their own. Through our words and actions, through education and activism, we must be their voices – their guardians, defenders, adopters and advocates. Never their owners, masters, buyers or sellers, exploiters or killers.” Elliot M. Katz, DVM, Founder and President Emeritus, In Defense of Animals

“The words we use are powerful. Words such as “love, peace and freedom,” have impacted societies and changed them for the better. “Guardian” is that kind of word. Because to be a true Guardian means to reach into our hearts and allow for a deeper and more meaningful connection to form between ourselves and the animals we share our world with. A connection that not only will most positively affect their lives but also has the power to transform our own. ” – Carlyn Montes De Oca, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M., M.T.O.M.

  5. Mike Williams says:

Doesn’t her decision to wear fur just make her pro choice when it comes to an animals?

    1. Adina says:

What on earth do you mean? Being cruel is not a “choice”, it is brought on by emotional distress which means the person has no control over themselves. Likewise, “pro choice” refers to abortion for the human woman, so no idea how that fits in here. We force the animals to have sex and have babies so that we can skin them, to make money because we are powerless before our hidden emotions, or to survive in a system of human slavery that doesn’t recognize our human needs. Where or whose choice is there to talk about?

  6. robyn says:

love it! great job compassionate new yorkers! these people who wear fur look really mean and dumb.
