Anti-Fur Activists Disrupt Kim Kardashian’s Book Signing
The News
At a Barnes & Noble bookstore in New York City on Tuesday, animal rights activists confronted Kim Kardashian face-to-face to disrupt her book signing and protest her consumption of fur.
After a six hour wait in line, activist Crank Dennehy got straight to the point: “Can you make [the autograph] out to all of the animals that have been tortured and killed for you to wear a fur coat?”
In a news brief about the Kim Kardashian disruption, celebrity gossip blogger Perez Hilton wrote, “While we agree that wearing fur isn’t the most considerate act, it must suck to have so many people screaming in your face at once.” In response, one reader explained why this approach is effective: “By creating a scene with someone who has millions of followers, they gain [create] further awareness about how bad the situation really is. Most of the animals are either electrocuted or skinned alive.”
The disruption took place just one day after another fur-promoting celebrity, Rihanna, attended the annual costume gala at NYC’s Metropolitan Museum of Art wearing a fur-trim dress the size of small swimming pool.
The gala, which benefits the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute, is organized by yet another fur promoter, Vogue editor Anna Wintour. Because of her consistent promotion of fur in the media and on the pages of Vogue, Wintour has been the target of animal rights activists for decades.

All I can say is Bravo! protestors. If Kanye would have been there, you’d have been assaulted and then you could have pressed charges against him. Too bad he wasn’t there! He’s a hideous excuse for humanity and seeing his arrogant mug on Time magazine made me ill! America has truly slipped into the slime of the sewers.
It’s not a personal choice or right to wear fur like it is with a hairstyle or how much skin to show its cruel, barbaric, unnecessary going backwards refusing to evolve no longer can excuses be made for wearing skin ripped off another defenceless animal you cant hurt and destroy children just because they couldn’t stop you themselves they rely on the compassion of those who can fight for them and to allow this horrific treatment of innocent victims whatever their species should weigh heavily on all those with a conscience and those without are the force who must be stopped. It speaks to what we are and what we can be with the choices we make for those who have none, slavery, genocide and crucifixion some of the worst horrors inflicted on fellow humans are recognised now for the absolute complete inhumanity that should never have been and we are still at varying levels of evolution and some have still a very long way to come and its for those who have the awareness to see the enormity of the problem to bring on the change, that stops us from being totally humane and justifiable to our future collective conscience.
This so called lady is not wise enough to understand what she is doing with still wearing fur. Everybody should know now where it comes from and how the animals suffered for it.
Wait, you now have book signings if someone has read a book to you?
The public has been so dumbed down, by media and the “entertainment” industry, by political and religious institutions, by inferior education in our schools, due largely to the failure to “invest” in our children and teachers, that it is no wonder that exploitive airheads like the Kardashians have the “chutzpah” to write/promote a non-sensical piece of fluff like “Selfish” while they’re laughing all the way to the bank. Yes, “greed is good”, according to these worthless, soul-less creatures.
We see a naive and uninformed public that lives on a diet of junk food, junk science and junk entertainment-idolizing and enriching baseball/basketball/football players, insignificant celebrities by watching their shows and buying the crap they endorse and thereby supporting their outrageous behavior and lavish lifestyles…while the poor schmucks play the lottery with their hard-earned paychecks, in the hope of getting access to a piece of that meaningless, tinsel-town glamour. What a sad commentary on life in the 21st century, while millions of innocent children are dying of disease and starvation, in war-torn countries around the globe.
I’m not a fan of either Rihanna or Kim Kardashian and her family. Anyone who wears fur is an ignorant, selfish idiot as far as I’m concerned. Maybe they’ll come to their senses one of these days and STOP wearing it. I can only hope so.
